About Jean Painter

It is my belief that both Oriental and Bio-medicine have a valuable, and unique set of tools with which to provide patients a road to good health.  When a patient has the choice and opportunity to have a healthcare team comprised of experts in each field, they then have the best of both worlds of care–an integrative approach.

I have developed associations of understanding and coordination with the Western medical providers in our area and I receive regular referrals from neurologists, rheumatologists, endocrinologists, family practitioners, dermatologists, dentists, naturopaths, chiropractors and physical therapists, as well as a broad assortment of massage therapists and other bodywork professionals.

I have never met another medical provider who did not wish the best care for their patient, and who was not happy to learn of treatment that could relieve suffering when that provider’s own medicine had reached its limit of effectiveness. It is, I believe, my ability to explain Oriental medicine to the western medical community, reinforced by the effective outcomes in those patients that are referred to me, that has made these healthcare teams so successful.

Subject: My Testimonial To Jean Painter.
Hello dear Jean.
As you will remember, last November 22nd, the day before my 71st birthday, I first came to your office seeking help out of sheer desperation. I had been very ill for more than six years. I was suffering from the long term effects of migraine, coupled with vertigo, and various stomach issues. Being so unsteady and unreliable, I was unable, due to safety reasons, to drive myself to your office so my wife Eve drove me over to counsel with you.
I had been to several doctors over those six plus years to treat my vertigo and migraine headaches which were almost constant, and to varying degrees, quite debilitating. That list of doctors included, but was not limited to; ear and eye specialist and four neurologists, two in Arizona, one in California, and a team of neurologists at the Mayo hospital, in Rochester Minnesota. While I did finally receive some temporary relief through the specialists at the Mayo hospital, it was short lived and because it was all done through synthetic medications, I experienced several negative side effects.
My stomach issues namely consisted of diverticulitis, a duodenal hernia and pre-cancer of the esophagus. After having my gall bladder removed in 2014, which indeed needed removing, as it was full of stones and non functioning, the majority of my stomach issues then suddenly began to surface. The gastrointestinal doctor then placed me on a restricted diet, and further prescribed several additional synthetic medications, all also producing various negative side effects.
When I arrived for my first visit with you Jean, you tested me for several allergies. In so doing, you immediately discovered I was allergic to gluten, corn, all dairy products, nuts and certain spices, which were effecting both my brain and stomach. You later tested me for chemicals, dust, animal hair, colognes, perfumes, hair sprays, soaps, laundry detergents, scents and some medications, to which I also tested highly positive.
Now for the great news. After just three months of seeing you for acupuncture treatments and the elimination of all I am allergic to, I’m thankfully off all medications except for a daily blood pressure pill. Before coming to you, Jean, I was is such constant head pain, coupled with vertigo, I was unable to even walk around our home without holding onto something to keep me steady, much less drive, attend church, enter a grocery store or mall, and sleeping was near impossible as well. I can now openly admit, I believe my life was nearing its end.
I had said to Eve, when she suggested me seeing you, that at this point while I had nothing to loose, you Jean, would be the very last stop along the highway of help.
Thanks be to God, my wife and you dear Jean, along with your expertise in integrative medicine, I continue improving each week. And, after these past several years of intense pain and suffering, which Eve also suffered in her own unique way, I, we, are finally getting our lives back to something nearing “normal”.
I earnestly pray all people will soon come to discover, as I have, that nearly all their illnesses and diseases, are allergy related.
May God bless you Jean, for all you have done, are now doing and will continue to do for those, who like myself, are in need of your “natural healing” touch.
    Sincerely yours,
    Mike Connolly

I’ve had atrial fibrillation for about 12 years. Finally I reached the point of needing an ablation. For about three months before this surgery, I had noticed a change in my medication; it no longer worked. I had daily bouts of a-fib that lasted 6-12 hours. After several trips to the emergency room, I decided to consult with Jean Painter. She thought she could help. Over the next several months, I needed her expertise six times. Ms Painter helped every time. Her treatments last 1 to 1 & 1/2 hours; each emergency room visit is 3-5 hours, sometimes longer. Jean’s needles are sure easier to take than the emergency room. I am grateful for her help!    J.P. Ellsworth

What a relief to find Jean Painter in Prescott. A chronic fatigue patient since the ’90’s, I have moved around a lot and always have needed to find folks to help with this wherever I’ve gone. Truthfully, Jean has been that person for me here in Prescott. Thank you for helping keep me going. All good things,  Monica Ashton

Thank you so very much, Jean Painter. After struggling with sinus and labrynthitis for three weeks with no relief from the dizziness and nausea with the antibiotics and steroids, you were a miracle worker. After one treatment, my dizziness and nausea had subsided and I was able to get off the nausea medication. I truly believe in all you do. Thank you so much for seeing me.    Kerry Barney

I first came to Jean Painter for acupuncture during chemotherapy and radiation for metastasized cancer. I received weekly treatments from Jean throughout the five+ months of my cancer treatment, and I literally sailed through this process with good appetite and overall energy, and no nausea or significant pain. I was very surprised and pleased to have such an easy experience of such a difficult therapy, and am convinced my weekly acupuncture was a key reason that I fared so well. Ongoing weekly acupuncture and Chinese herbs are helping my body recoup now that cancer treatment is over. Jean Painter has been an important ally & friend in my healing process, and I am very grateful to her! Karuna Fedorschak

I’m writing this as a testimony to my state of well-being while in the care of Jean Painter.  After going to traditional doctors and getting no relief, I made an appointment to see Ms Painter, even though I had never experienced Chinese medicine or acupuncture before. I was in very poor health (vertigo/dizziness) and was desperate for help. Jean listened carefully, assessed my symptoms. and made some suggestions. She gave me an acupuncture treatment and herbs to take 3x a day. Jean explained everything so I could understand it. Following her instructions I started feeling better within a week. I am very grateful for this experience and will not hesitate to use acupuncture again for other reasons.    Nancy Horne

My spinal stenosis and arthritis problems improved greatly from Jean’s treatments. It is like a miracle, one that I am very grateful for. What a wonderful experience.  Rochelle Peterson

Jean Painter has assisted me in going for days without smoking. Her treatments are helping me so much, and as always. Jean, your presence is healing.   Bettina Isley

Ms. Painter has helped me so much with my acid reflux and balancing my calcium/magnesium so my body can heal. She is a very knowledgeable person and I thank her so much.   Teresa Dawson

Thank you Jean Painter! I had enlarged prostate and was awaiting surgery.  Jean’s herb selection greatly improved my urination so I was able to wait the 2 months before the surgery and thus avoided emergency surgery. The herbs have continued to help post surgery.      Andrew Murphy

Jean Painter has been a Godsend in my life. I had been battling ovarian cancer for almost 5 years when I began seeing her. I was in the middle of  chemotherapy, and needed relief from the side effects. What a difference the acupuncture made! It helped the nausea, the dizziness, and the excruciating tail bone pain that I had. I saw Jean right after chemo (the same day) and, depending on the need, for 1 to 3 more days. Acupuncture made it bearable to live with the chemo side effects—something that nothing else had been able to effect. On top of that, it was the only time during chemo I never required a shot to keep my white cell count up (which is a very big deal).  Jean has also helped me with many other issues including TMJ, pain from Fibromyalgia, and severe ringing in my ears (another permanent side effect of chemo). I don’t know what I would do without her. All pills have some side effects, acupuncture does not, it only heals. It is truly amazing and so is Jean.    Karin Klausen

I would like to thank Jean Painter for literally changing the course of my life. When I first came to her I was near the end of my rope, living with such agonizing sciatic pain in my left leg that at times I could not run my business. I had to crawl on my hands and knees to get to the bathroom during the night. I tried drugs, chiropractic, exercises, none of which made much difference. Jean was my last hope before back surgery. I am so grateful for the relief I have gotten from her acupuncture  treatments. Except for the memory of the pain, I hardly know that anything was ever wrong with me! I am living pain-free and fully functional again. Going from sheer agony to pain free in 1 month’s time is nothing short of miraculous, and I will sing Jean Painter’s praises for the rest of my life.     Russ Palmer

The Chinese herbs Jean Painter prescribed for my restless leg syndrome were very effective. I noticed an improvement soon after I began taking them. I have not experienced any RLS symptoms since June. Thank you for making my life better!   Mona Mc Croskey

I was born with a serious defect in my lower back and have managed that pain with some success with exercise and chiropractic care for 40 years. On a visit to Jean’s office she noticed that I was having a bad day with my back and offered her services. I decided to give acupuncture a try. I had tried acupuncture before for a different condition with a different practitioner and had limited success, so I was a bit apprehensive. The first three or four treatments were uneventful, but after that I began to notice changes after each visit. Now four months later, I am without back pain 90% of the time. I am playing golf and walking the course 2-3 times per week without pain.  Aside from my back problem, Jean has successfully treated me for a bronchial infection and we are currently making progress with a chronic shoulder injury that occurred over 10 years ago. Needless to say, Jean Painter has become my primary-care doctor for most of my health issues. Her methods work with the body allowing the body to heal itself. Jean Painter, you are my hero!    Don A. Reger, DC

We are most grateful for the help Jean Painter has given us as we walk this road of life together. Much Love,  Bill & Norma Love

Jean is a marvel! I have been going to her for treatment for over 3 years now. Don’t know what I would have done without her! No matter what is bothering me, when I come in for treatment I always feel better when I leave. And I am always happier and have more energy. She’s wonderful and I don’t know what I would do without her!!!  Dawn Traver
